Alex and Don in Newfoundland

The journey continues :-)

When I moved back to Colorado to work for Bell Labs (supporting the Lucent Technologies Optical Networking Group's SDH Multi-Service Solutions business unit) I thought I was set for a long time, but Rich McGinn et al. destroyed that plan. During 2001 the Denver R&D group was disbanded , and I decided to try teaching. I taught algebra and C++ at Parks College , and then spent the 2003-4 academic year teaching AP Computer Science, C++, Java, and Basic at Monarch High School . Almost half of my AP students got fours or fives on the exam, so I count that as a success. However, my experience with the unmotivated geometry students convinced me that if I continue teaching it should be at the college level.

At the moment I am in Nebraska, working (hard) at managing the data processing and back office operations for the Kimball stores of the Wolf Automotive Group .
